Ceist:116 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education the position concerning national lottery funding or other grant aid for sporting organisations; and if national lottery funding will be available in this regard in 1994.
Written Answers. - National Lottery Allocations.
Funding for sport in Ireland is provided from the proceeds of the national lottery and administered by my Department. This funding will be continued in 1994.
Under my Department's scheme of assistance to sport, grants are paid on an annual basis to national governing bodies of sport in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various approved schemes and programmes operated by my Department.
Details of organisations grant-aided by my Department from lottery funds are published annually in the Appropriation Accounts.
I am also arranging to forward to the Deputy a copy of the latest Annual Report prepared by the Sport Section of my Department.
