Ceist:43 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for the Environment if he has had, or if he proposes to have discussions with local authorities on the problems arising in the local authorities housing differential rent scheme.

I have had no such discussions. However, officials of my Department meet regularly with officials of individual local authorities and with representative groups of local authority officials to discuss a wide range of housing matters, including, from time to time, the operation by authorities of their differential rent schemes.
