Vol. 438 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Galway Schools.

Michael P. Kitt

Ceist:

239 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made on providing funding for an extension and improvements to a school (details supplied) in County Galway.

It was not possible to include this project in the National School Capital Programme for 1994 because of other demands deemed to be of higher priority which had to take precedence.

The project will be considered for inclusion in the programme in due course.

Ceist:

240 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education when a grant for furniture will be paid to the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Galway.

There is no record in my Department of the grant application referred to by the Deputy. The chairman of the board of management has now been invited to submit a duplicate application which when received will be processed at an early date.

Ceist:

241 Mr. M. Kitt asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made on a grant for improvement works to a school (details supplied) in County Galway.

Applications for grant-aid have been received by my Department from the board of management of the national school referred to by the Deputy.

Grants have been sanctioned in respect of the provision of furniture and floor covering, and an application for grant-aid for improvement works to the heating system is being investigated by the Department's professional advisers. A decision in the matter will be conveyed by my Department to the school authorities at an early date.
