Ceist:106 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath will be paid the grants for which he applied under the suckler scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The person named applied for 1992 suckler cow premium on 21 animals. One of these died and a second was slaughtered in December 1992 but the person named did not replace them immediately or notify my Department of the reduction in his number of eligible suckler cows applied on within the ten day period required by EU Regulations. Accordingly, I regret to say that under the provisions of those Regulations no 1992 suckler cow premium can be paid to this applicant.
