Ceist:180 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she intends to increase the per capita funding for the library service in primary schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy may be aware that the Library Grant has been steadily increasing over the past number of years. The per capita rate has increased from 38p per pupil in 1989 to 51p in 1994.
The question of further increases in the grant will be kept under review.
