76 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the number, type, value and age of aircraft operated by our national airline; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement showing the number, type and construction date of the Aer Lingus 1994 operating fleet.

The most recently published Aer Lingus balance sheet at 31 March 1993 showed aircraft with a cost of £370.478 million and depreciation of £80.473 million, leading to a written down value of approximately £290 million. The figure covered all of Aer Lingus's owned and finance-leased, and equivalent, aircraft, including aircraft stored or leased out.
