185 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made concerning the provision of second level educational facilities at Castlepollard, County Westmeath; if the possibility of giving the go ahead for a green field development has been fully explored; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Dáil Question No. 89 answered on 8 December 1993 regarding this school. County Westmeath Education Committee has sought approval from my Department to provide a complete new school building on a new site to replace the existing facilities at Coláiste Cionn Torc, Castlepollard, County Westmeath.
My Department is reviewing the needs of the centre in the light of the new proposal. As soon as the review is completed my Department will contact the vocational education committee in the matter.
