89 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment if he will request the Garda Commissioner to reconsider the proposal to increase the speed limit on the Navan Road, Dublin 7 from 30-40 miles per hour in view of the high density of schools, senior citizens homes and disabled persons services adjacent to the Navan Road.
The Road Traffic (Speed Limits) (County Borough of Dublin and County of Dublin) (Amendment) Regulations, 1994, made on 3 March, 1994 prescribe a special speed limit of 40 mph on part of the Navan Road in Dublin. These regulations implemented recommendations for speed limit revisions which were submitted to my Department by Dublin Corporation with the agreement of the Garda Síochána. I have no proposals to further amend the regulations.
