74 Mr. Durkan asked the Taoiseach the number and names of public relations firms which have obtained Government contracts in the past 15 months; the value of such contracts; the terms of reference; the reason for such contracts; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The position is the same as given in my reply to Question No. 6 of 8 February 1994, that Carr Communications have been retained by my Department to provide assistance and advice to me as Taoiseach, and to Ministers of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, on all matters relating to the media — radio, television and print media.
The annual value of the contract is £30,000 plus VAT of £6,300.

My Department has allocated one such contract within the period in question.
In December 1992 discussions were held with Carr Communications to produce a film video on Ireland's Bilateral Development Aid Programme — BAP. An agreement for the production of the video was signed on 28 January, 1993. The cost of the film was £84,817.20.
