Vol. 442 No. 4

Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Harbour.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

54 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine the proposals, if any, he has to progress the plans for the new terminal facilities at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, County Dublin in the event of An Bord Pleanála confirming the planning permission granted by the Dún Laoghaire/Rathdown County Council; and his views on whether the new facilities will be ready for the commencement of the Stena Sealink high speed service in 1995.

It remains the firm intention to have the Dún Laoghaire Harbour development completed on time so as to be ready for the commencement of service by Stena Sealink's high speed service vessel in May 1995.

All necessary plans to meet this deadline have been drawn up. The actual initiation of development works is, of course, subject to An Bord Pleanála confirming the planning permission granted by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council on 25 February 1994.
