119 Miss Harney asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the recent disturbing report on homelessness in the Tallaght area; the plans, if any, he has to provide additional accommodation for homeless young people in that locality; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have just received a report entitled "Out of the Gaff" from the Tallaght Homeless Advice Unit and will be considering what, if any, issues of a policy nature it raises. Other aspects would be the responsibility of the housing authority or the health board who, under the Child Care Act, 1991, have statutory responsibility for the accommodation of young homeless persons.
