Vol. 442 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ceist:

131 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the date of application; the progress to date and likely outcome of an application for 10 month and 22 month beef premia from a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for the June 1993 special beef premium — ten months — in respect of six animals on 28 June 1993. The premium had already been paid on one of these animals and another animal was rejected as it had the wrong date of birth. Payment on the remaining four animals will issue in the near future. The final instalment of the June 1993 22 month special beef premium application which was lodged on 28 June 1993 in respect of three animals was paid 27 April 1994.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

132 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be eligible to apply for the 10 month special premium scheme.

The person named applied for premium on four animals under the November 1993 ten months special beef premium scheme. In order to qualify for grants under this scheme animals had to be born between 1 February 1992 and 28 February 1993. As the dates of birth quoted on her applications were given as January 1992, however, they were ineligible for ten month premium and remain so. She may, nevertheless, submit these animals for 22 month premium in the June 1994 application period.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

133 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive his cattle headage.

The application of the person named for grants under the 1993 cattle headage scheme is being processed at present and any payment due will be made in the near future.
