Ceist:39 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Finance the percentage of funding under the 1991-1993 Interreg programme which was taken up by community groups.

Under the joint Interreg Programme for Ireland and Northern Ireland 1991-1993 a total of over 4.6 mecu (the equivalent of over IR£3.7 million) was committed to community groups. This represented over 5.67 per cent of total funding.
While the bulk of this funding was committed under the specific Community Development measures in the programme community groups were also assisted under the tourism, agriculture/ fisheries/forestry, human resources and economic development sub-programmes and measures.
