Ceist:

69 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon only received part of his headage to date and has not received any payment in respect of his beef premium or suckler grant.

The person named was paid the balance of his 1993 cattle headage grant on 23 March 1994. He was paid his full January 1993 special beef premium on 17 May 1994.

He was paid an advance of his 1993 suckler cow premium on 4 December 1993. This application is being processed further at present and any balance due will be paid in the near future.

He applied for the June 1993 special beef premium in respect of eight animals for both the ten month and 22 month schemes. Two animals applied on under the ten month scheme were previously paid on and therefore only the remaining six can be processed for payment. He has been written to regarding invalid tags on three of the animals applied on under the 22 month scheme. When clarification is received his application will be processed for payment. Failure to clarify these invalid tags will result in loss of premium on the animals involved.
