Vol. 443 No. 2

Written Answers. - Election Campaign Procedures.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

86 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Health the procedures, if any, that are in place to ensure that the facilities, resources and time of his Department are not used to support any employee's election campaign; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I do not consider it necessary to have any special procedures in place to ensure that any employee of my Department who is a candidate at an election will not use the facilities, resources or time of the Department in support of his election campaign. Any improper conduct of this sort would come to notice and be dealt with in the normal way as it would be if it were to occur for any other reason.
