Ceist:

145 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Education the reason work has not commenced on the second phase of Jobstown Community College, Tallaght, Dublin 24, in view of the fact that this 200 pupil extension was promised to be open for the beginning of the 1993 school year; and when work will commence in order that this extension will be in place for the opening of the school year on 1 September 1994.

My Department has recently received a report from the County Dublin Vocational Educational Committee regarding the tenders they have obtained for the proposed extension to Jobstown Community College. This report and their Design Team's recommendation on the placing of the contract are being examined as a matter of urgency. My Department hopes to be in a position to authorise the placing of the contract shortly.
