Ceist:50 Mr. Gregory asked the Taoiseach if there is funding available to assist the Inner City Organisations Network (ICON) in the development of an area action plan for the north-east inner city of Dublin.

My Department has responsibility for the overall co-ordination of the Local Development Programme and direct responsibility for the operation of the Programme in areas designated as disadvantaged. In these areas Partnership Companies are established and prepare an Area Action Plan based on the needs and resources of the area. The Companies may assist other groups within their areas who are contributing to the Action Plan. The North Inner City area of Dublin is within the Dublin Inner City Partnership area. I understand that ICON has received funding from the Inner City Partnership towards the cost of preparing its Action Plan.
The Area Partnership Companies are independent companies limited by guarantee. I have no function in their decisions about the allocation of funds.
