Ceist:82 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment if he will reconsider an application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a driving test with a view to granting an alternative date to the person concerned.

I understand that this person arrived 12 minutes late for her test appointment on 30 May and the driver tester, in accordance with established procedures, refused to carry out a driving test for this reason. Only where an applicant can provide adequate and verifiable reasons for failing to fulfil a test appointment can a further appointment be made without charge. That has not been done in the present case.
