Ceist:69 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for the Environment the outcome of the discussions at the Council of Ministers meeting held on 8 and 9 June 1994, in relation to the imposition of a carbon tax throughout the EU.

The Environment Council had an exchange of views on the proposed carbon/energy tax and decided that the high level group, established in March 1994 to consider the issue, should continue its work and report to the next council.
