Vol. 444 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

80 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a suckling cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has already been paid the full amount due to him under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme on 20 April 1994. Payment under the 1993 beef cow scheme will issue as soon as possible.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

81 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a full suckler cow payment under the 1992 scheme was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick in view of the fact that this person was in the cow suckler scheme for a period of ten years prior to 1992; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for premium on 27 cows under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme. He was paid the full amount due on 27 cows on 2 June 1993. Consequently, he established 27 suckler cow quota rights. He applied for premium on 28 cows under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme.

It was a condition of the 1993 scheme that only beef-type breeds could be applied on unless the producer was an applicant under the scheme in 1990 or 1991. The person in question included three non-beef breeds on his 1993 application and as he has not made application for the scheme in 1990 or 1991, he is eligible for payment on only 25 cows. Arrangements are being made to have this payment issued shortly.

Ceist:

82 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in the payment of the 1993 beef cow and suckler grant to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named has already been paid the full amount due to him under the 1993 beef cow scheme on 23 May 1994. My Department has no record of an application from the person named under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme.

John Bruton

Ceist:

83 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason cow subsidy has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath in view of the fact that he fulfils all the conditions for this scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named failed to establish an automatic entitlement to a suckler cow quota and he did not apply for an allocation from the national reserve. Consequently, his application for 1993 suckler cow premium cannot be considered for payment.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

84 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a 1993 sheep headage payment will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

Payment of the 1993 sheep headage grant will be made to the person named shortly.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Ceist:

85 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when payment of outstanding livestock grants will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named has already been paid full grants under the 1993 cattle and equines headage scheme. He did not apply for grants under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme. His applications for grants under the January-February and June 1993 special beef premium schemes are being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

Éamon Ó Cuív

Ceist:

86 Éamon Ó Cuív asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when outstanding 1992 and 1993 cattle grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted but a person of the same surname is. If and when the person named becomes registered as herd owner his applications for 1992 and 1993 livestock grants will then be processed.
