75 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment if he intends increasing the grant aid support under the community enterprise programme; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there is underfunding for applications already on file; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Expenditure of £1.5 million is projected for the Community Enterprise Programme which represents an increase of £0.1 million approximately over the 1993 expenditure level of £1.400 million approximately. While the programme is currently operating at capacity level relative to resources available this year, there are a number of other initiatives in place that support enterprise/job creation such as the county enterprise boards, the extended area partnerships, the Leader, the PRSI exemption scheme and the Department of Social Welfare back to work allowance scheme.
