Vol. 444 No. 6

Written Answers. - Community Support Framework.

John Bruton

Ceist:

88 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if each operational programme under Ireland's EU community support framework will be available to members of the public under recently adopted EU freedom of information rules; and if so, if he will publish them in Ireland.

John Bruton

Ceist:

89 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will publish the quantified objectives to be achieved in 1999 under Ireland's community support framework in respect of each operational programme; and if not, the reason therefor.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 88 and 89 together.

As was the case under the 1989-1993 Community Support Framework, Operational Programmes under the 1994-1999 Community Support Framework will be available to members of the public. It is the intention that after each individual operational programme is approved by the European Commission it will be published by the lead Government Department responsible for the programme.
The Community Support Framework for Ireland, which will be published by the European Commission when finally approved, contains information on the quantified objectives and indicators by programme area. The latest draft of the Community Support Framework has been placed in the Oireachtas Library. More detailed information on quantified objectives will be contained in each operational programme and these programmes will be published when approved.
