Written Answers. - Ballyvolane (Cork) Water Services.

Máirín Quill

Ceist:

56 Miss Quill asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given for a scheme forwarded by Cork Corporation in March 1990, to his Department, the aim of which is to relieve persistent flooding at Ballyvolane Cross, Cork City; and the steps, if any, he proposes to take to speed up the granting of approval.

Ceist:

57 Miss Quill asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given for Cork Corporation's proposal regarding the culverting of a stream at Parkcourt, Ballyvolance, Cork City, contract documents for which have been submitted to his Department since June 1991; and the steps, if any, he proposes to take to expedite the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 56 and 57 together.

Contract documents for these schemes have been received in my Department. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made.
