Vol. 444 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Kildare Group Water Schemes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

65 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the total number of group water schemes from County Kildare currently before his Department; the number approved in the past 12 months; the number implemented and now operational following approval in the past 12 months; the total number of households likely to be served by such schemes; when the subscribers to schemes currently in hand will obtain service; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Twenty-seven group water-sewerage scheme proposals in respect of County Kildare are with my Department at present; many of these are in the early stages of planning. It is estimated that up to 600 households may eventually be served by these schemes. Two schemes from County Kildare have been approved for grants in the past year and both are now operational. I cannot indicate at present when it may be possible to approve further group scheme proposals for County Kildare.
