Vol. 444 No. 7

Written Answers. - FCÁ Training.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

71 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Defence if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the FCÁ personnel who would be qualified to go to annual training and are available on the dates concerned have been refused, on the basis that they are taking part in the film, "Braveheart"; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

All FCÁ personnel who will be taking part in the making of the film "Braveheart" are doing so on a voluntary basis. The application forms signed by the personnel concerned included confirmation by the applicants that they were available for film work over the periods for which their services were required. I am advised that, when applying for film work, they were fully aware of the proposed schedule of FCÁ training camps.
