Vol. 444 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Ceist:

97 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Cork will be paid the 1993 headage grant.

The amount due to the person named under the 1993 beef cow scheme will issue within the next two weeks.

The person named applied for premium on 12 cows under the 1993 suckler cow premium scheme. This application cannot be processed as the person named has not established suckler cow quota rights. Since he was not an applicant in 1992 under the suckler cow premium scheme he does not have automatic quota rights. My Department has no record of an application from him for rights from either the special reserve for small scale milk producers or the national reserve.

Ceist:

98 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Kerry will be paid the ten month beef premium scheme.

The application of the person named for grants under the ten months November 1993 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and payment will be made shortly.

Donal Moynihan

Ceist:

99 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the plans, if any he has to pay first and second instalments of the 1994 ewe premium; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Ewe premium payments are made in accordance with EU regulations. Payment is made by way of instalments. The amount to be paid is fixed by the Commission and payment of any of the instalments cannot commence until up to seven days have elapsed from the date of publication of that decision in the Official Journal. The Commission fixed the rate for the first and second instalments on Friday last 24 June. It is expected that payment of those two instalments can commence in mid July.

Donal Moynihan
