Vol. 444 No. 7

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Treatment.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

142 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health if he will arrange orthodontic treatment for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 who was injured in a road accident when aged nine years and has since received ongoing dental treatment in the Dental Hospital but is now referred back to the health board for orthodontic treatment in view of the fact that the Eastern Health Board refused the case in view of the fact that this person was not picked up in the normal schools dental system.

The provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in Dublin 9 is the responsibility of the Eastern Health Board in the first instance and I have referred this matter to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health Board for his immediate attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
