Ceist:

16 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Equality and Law Reform the progress, if any, that has been made to date with regard to the commitment that 40 per cent of appointments to State boards would be female; the procedures, if any, that are in place for monitoring such appointments; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The latest information to hand is that approximately 21 per cent of the membership of State boards, but 26 per cent of the direct Government or ministerial nominees, are women. My Government colleagues and I will continue to monitor the position.
