238 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for the Environment the up-to-date position regarding progress made in respect of the replacement of the Currymore/Bunnacurry pipeline at Achill, County Mayo, in view of his reply to a parliamentary question of 22 March 1994. [277/94]
As stated in reply to Question No. 773 of 22 March 1994 the preliminary report for this scheme has been under consideration in my Department.
The question of funding for this scheme, and for water services projects generally, has been considered in the context of the resources available under the National Development Plan. The high level of existing commitments and the demands of schemes already prioritised for investment account for all finance available to the water services programme at present. Therefore, it is not possible to provide funding for this scheme at this stage. However, the position will be regularly reviewed during the period of the National Development Plan.
