Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Kilmore Quay (Wexford) Development.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

279 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Marine the plans, if any, he has to extend the works in the current phase of development at Kilmore Quay Harbour, County Wexford, so that restoration of the east wall of the harbour will be completed in this current phase while the present works are on-going; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [313/94]

The Department of the Marine's major development scheme currently underway at Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, involves underpinning the existing pier, the dredging and deepening of the harbour, the provision of a new quay and slipway at the north end of the harbour and the reinstatement of the east breakwater. This project which will cost in the region of £2 million, represents a considerable investment by both the Department of the Marine and Wexford County Council. There are no plans to undertake any additional works.
