Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Frank Crowley

Ceist:

317 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been refused a suckler cow grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [563/94]

The person in question applied on 83 cows in November 1993 under the 1993 suckler cow scheme. At an inspection carried out in May 1994 at least 12 of the cows presented were deemed to be of friesian breed but were declared at application to have been of Hereford breed. Some 40 of the other cows were considered to have been in-calf heifers at the application date.

In relation to both of the above matters there is indication of intentional false declaration. The penalty for such a declaration under the EU regulations governing the scheme is that an applicant is ruled out of the suckler cow scheme for the year in question (1993) and the following year (1994).

Therefore, the person named could not be paid suckler cow premium in 1993 and cannot be considered for payment in 1994.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

318 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when beef premium grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [582/94]

The person named was not an applicant for the January 1993 and November 1993 special beef premium schemes. She did however apply for the June 1993 special beef premium scheme and this premium has been paid in full to her.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

319 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when cattle headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [583/94]

The person named was paid in advance of his 1993 cattle headage grant on 14 December 1993. The outstanding amount is being paid without delay.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

320 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [584/94]

The application of the person named for grants under the June 1993 suckler cow premium scheme was rejected when subjected to a computer validation check. The problem with the application has now been resolved and payment will issue shortly.

Enda Kenny

Ceist:

321 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the remainder of cattle headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Mayo. [585/94]

The person named was paid advances of his 1993 suckler cow premium on 25 November 1993 and his 1993 cattle headage grant on 26 November 1993. Payment of the balances was held up because my Department was awaiting documentary evidence from the herdowner regarding one animal absent at inspection.

This matter has now been resolved and payment of the balances will be made in the near future.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

322 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when ewe premium will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and the reason for the delay in payment of this premium. [587/94]

Payment of 1993 ewe premium to the person named was delayed as he failed to furnish a dipping certificate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the scheme. This has now been resolved and all outstanding premia will be paid in the near future.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

323 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a farm development grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [590/94]

This grant was paid on 30 September 1994.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

324 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the status of an application for installation grant for a person (details supplied) in County Limerick; and when the grant will be paid. [593/94]

The application is currently being examined by my Department. However, I understand that the applicant will have difficulty in satisfying the educational requirements of the scheme.

Donal Carey

Ceist:

325 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be paid under the 1987 EC milk cessation scheme. [595/94]

The final instalment due under the 1987 EC Community milk cessation scheme was paid to the person named in September 1993.
