Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Ministerial Visits.

Mary Harney

Ceist:

332 Miss Harney asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of official trips abroad he has made since he took office; the number of persons that accompanied him on each of these trips; and the cost of the various trips. [770/94]

Since I took office, I have made 64 official journeys in my capacity as Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry mainly to meetings of Council of Ministers (Agriculture) held in Brussels and Luxembourg. The number of persons that accompanied me on those journeys varied depending on the nature of the work involved. The average number of persons accompanying me was four.

In the time available it is not possible to give the detailed breakdown of costs required by the Deputy but I am arranging to have it compiled and sent to her.
