Ceist:379 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications the current position regarding the exploration for gas, oil and mineral deposits along the Cavan-Fermanagh border. [828/94]
Written Answers. - Oil and Gas Exploration.
There are no licences in force for oil and gas exploration in the Cavan/Fermanagh border area at present and no exploration activities are currently taking place in the area.
There are, however, three valid prospecting licences (under the Minerals Development Acts, 1940 to 1979) in respect of gypsum anhydrite held by National Gypsum Ltd. along the Cavan-Fermanagh border.
