Vol. 445 No. 6

Written Answers. - Higher Education Grant Payment.

Michael Noonan

Ceist:

468 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education the reason a higher education grant was not awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [346/94]

Limerick Corporation is the body statutorily entrusted with the administration of the higher education grants scheme in this case. I understand from that body that the person in question who entered third level college in the 1991-92 academic year was refused grant-aid on the basis that the family reckonable income exceeded the prescribed income limit of the 1991 scheme. I would refer the Deputy to Limerick Corporation for any further information he may require.
