Ceist:

134 Mr. E. Kenny asked the Minister for Finance the total income which accrued to the national lottery in each year since its inception; the allocation of such funds for each of the past three years under all headings indicating the name, location, organisation and group to which allocations have been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [289/94]

The surplus allocated to the National Lottery Beneficiary Fund, after deduction of prizes and approved expenses, and its distribution over the main beneficiary headings for the past three years was as follows:

Details of the allocations and of actual expenditure by individual Departments are contained in the relevant Appropriation Accounts, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
In relation to lottery funds distributed directly by my Department, grants amounting to £507,202 were paid in the period 1991-1933 inclusive. Apart from a grant of £250,000 paid to the Irish Institute of European Affairs in Louvain in 1992, all other payments were made to Gaeleagras na Seirbhíse Poiblí.
