71 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for Education the reason job-sharing facilities for clerk typists or clerical officers are not available in primary and secondary schools; her views on whether such a scheme should be introduced; and when she intends to make such a scheme available to all school secretaries. My Department is processing a request made by the trade union IMPACT for the introduction of such a scheme. My Department is examining a number of approaches which might overcome the possible difficulties with a view to entering into discussions with union and management interests on the detail of a scheme.
