46 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he will have arrangements made to collect comparative income and gross domestic product per head of population figures for each of Ireland's eight planning regions to ensure that at least some parts of Ireland will retain objective one status for EU aid after 1999. As I stated in the Dáil on 2 June 1994, in reply to a question from Deputy Rabbitte, the Government is monitoring and will continue to monitor all aspects of Ireland's position in relation to eligibility for Structural Funds after 1999 and will take all the necessary steps which are required for this purpose.
