Ceist:

89 Mr. N. Dempsey asked the Minister for Social Welfare the total amount paid in to the PRSI scheme by employers; the total amount paid in to the PRSI scheme by employees; and the total amounts paid out under the various schemes covered by PRSI for the years 1990 to 1994. [1621/95]

The amount paid into the Social Insurance Fund by employers, employees and the self-employed for the years 1990 to 1994 is set out in Table A.

The amount paid out of the social insurance fund under each of its schemes for the years 1990 to 1994 is set out in the following Table B.

The 1990 employer figures include contributions in respect of Occupational Injuries and Redundancy/Insolvency for the eight month period, May to December 1990.

(2) The figure for 1994 includes an estimated sum of £2,000,000 in respect o the extension of the former Widow's and Orphan's Pension Scheme to widowers in October 1994. The enlarged scheme is now known as Survivor's Pension.
