Ceist:174 Kathleen Lynch asked the Minister for Education, in relation to the early start pre-school programme, the number and location of existing pre-schools; and the number of additional pre-schools planned for 1995. [2802/95]
Written Answers. - Pre-School Programme.
Pre-school projects have to date been established in seven locations. In each case, the project is comprised of two pre-school classes. The locations chosen are as follows:
1. Padre Pio, N. S., Churchfield, Cork.
2. Presentation N.S., Galvone, Limerick.
3. St. Peter Apostle, J.N.S., Neilstown, Clondalkin, Dublin.
4. St. Oliver Plunkett, N.S., and St. Finian's, N.S., South Finglas, Dublin. (one pre-school class has been located in each of these schools).
5. Our Lady Immaculate S.N.S., Darndale, Dublin.
6. Killinarden, N.S., West Tallaght, Dublin.
7. Holy Family N.S., Dunedin Tce., Monkstown, Dublin.
Efforts are continuing to identify a suitable location for a further pre-school project in the Cherry Orchard/ Ballyfermot area.
I intend to establish a further 25 pre-school projects in the current year. Consideration is currently being given to the identification of the most suitable locations for these projects.
