Vol. 448 No. 6

Written Answers. - Farm Retirement Pension.

Paul Bradford

Ceist:

208 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork who was an applicant for a farm retirement pension has not received a pension in respect of all of the lands which he transferred; if the rate of pension can be reviewed in view of the fact that all transferees were eligible transferees at the time of the transfer of the land; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [2490/95]

Under the farm retirement scheme a farming transferee must be under 50 years of age on the date the transfer documents are signed. Examination of this case shows that one of the transferees was ineligible as he was over 50 years of age on the date of transfer of a portion of the land in question, therefore disqualifying that land from the assessment of the pension.
