213 Mr. H. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the proper schedule of payments to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford under the farm retirement scheme; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the first payment was received on 16 December 1994 and none since; when the next payment will issue; his views on whether the person concerned is entitled to know exactly when future payments will issue; in relation to the farm retirement scheme the steps, if any, he has taken to implement his commitment to make his Department more user friendly and efficient; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Payments under this scheme are made at the end of each month. In this case the December payment was made early in anticipation of the normal postal backlog which occurs at this time. A further payment issued to this person on 30 January 1995. As the Deputy is aware I have already taken steps to review the operation of all of my Department's schemes with a view to making them more user friendly and efficient.
