Written Answers. - Home-School Links.
In keeping with the Government's commitment to increasing access to home-school links services, I am currently reviewing needs in this area and expect to make an announcement in the very near future. In my statement on the 1995 Estimates, I indicated that 340 teaching posts were being retained in the primary system. I also indicated that the availability of these extra posts will allow me to address the issue of disadvantage, including home-school links. Also in my statement, I referred to my intention to allocate an additional 700 teaching posts at second level. In this case also, I am looking at the needs for increased home-school links services in deploying these posts.
