52 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for the Environment when he will sign the regulations to activate section 41 of the 1994 Road Traffic Act and bring relief to Dublin communities plagued by joyriding; and if his attention has been drawn to the urgency of this matter. [3497/95]

The provisions of the Road Traffic Act, 1994, are being commenced on a phased basis. Section 41 enables the Minister to make regulations governing the detention of vehicles in certain circumstances. The necessary regulations will be made as soon as possible.
