37 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received an application for a grant for a new island ferry boat to Clare Island, County Mayo; if so, the current status of this application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4005/95]
An application for funding for a new island ferry boat to Clare Island, County Mayo has been received in the Department of the Marine.
The position is that as Minister for the Marine, I have no responsibility in relation to funding for ferry services to offshore islands. There is neither a legislative basis for such funding nor funds available in the Marine Vote.
