Ceist:

39 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for the Marine the names of the Directors of Irish Lights on 1 January 1994; and the changes, if any, in membership of the board since that date. [3970/95]

The board of the Commissioners of Irish Lights has a total membership of 21 Commissioners, comprising 17 elected members, the Lord Mayor of Dublin ex-officio and three representatives of Dublin Corporation. The membership of the board on 1 January 1994 was as follows:

Mr. J. P. Jameson,

Mr. L. D. G. Collen,

Mr. R. R. Stewart,

Mr. Richie Ryan,

Mr. M. A. O'Neill,

Mr. T. Sheppard,

Mr. M. W. S. MacLaran,

Mr. J. Gore-Grimes,

Commodore L. S. Moloney,

Lord Cooke of Islandreagh,

The Hon. T. R. V. Dixon,

Mr. T. C. Johnson,

Mr. L. D. McGonagle,

The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Meath,

Dr. M. A. Pierce,

Capt. A. C. Tupper,

Mr. H. P. Coveney,

The Right Hon. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Tomás Mac Giolla,

Councillor J. Stafford,

Councillor J. Connolly,

Alderman Seán Dublin Bay Loftus.

There have been five changes in membership of the board since 1 January 1994.
As the Deputy will be aware, I resigned as a board member on being appointed Minister for the Marine, and this vacancy has yet to be filled.
The four other changes came about through the resignations of The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Meath, Dr. M. A. Pierce and Capt. A.C. Tupper and the replacement of Councillor Tomás Mac Giolla, having served his term of office as Lord Mayor. These vacancies were filled by the appointment of Mr. W. B. Lyster, Mr. T. R. J. Shanks, Ms S. M. Tyrell and The Rt. Hon. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor John Gormley who succeeded Councillor Mac Giolla in that office.
