Ceist:53 Mr. Hughes asked the Minister for the Marine when he intends to visit the offshore islands in Mayo and the west coast in view of the commitment given by him recently. [2432/95]
Written Answers. - Offshore Islands Visit.
The position now is that the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, Deputy Carey, has been assigned the responsibility for co-ordinating the Government's commitment to western development and rural renewal and for the development and improvement of living conditions on offshore islands. I will give the Minister of State Deputy Carey, every assistance in this task. The Minister of State will take over as chairman of the interdepartmental committee which has been looking at islands issues.
