I regret that it is not possible to provide the Deputy with precise information in relation to pensionable service.
The pensionable service of individual teachers may vary depending on the capacity in which the teachers served and the type of school in which the service was given.
An individual primary, secondary, community or comprehensive school teacher's service record is examined thoroughly by the relevant section of my Department at the date of his-her application for a pension. It is only subsequent to this review that the precise pension entitlement of the teacher is established.
Applications for pension in the case of vocational teachers are processed by the appropriate vocational education committee.
