42 Mrs. Geoghegan-Quinn asked the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht the plans, if any, there are to commemorate one of Ireland's great writers, Oscar Wilde. [2114/95]
Although this year, 1995, is the 100th anniversary of the publication and performance of one of Oscar Wilde's finest works, The Importance of Being Earnest, the Government have no specific plans to commemorate this event. However, I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I recently had the pleasure of presiding over the unveiling of a plaque at No. 1 Merrion Square, Dublin, the house which was once occupied by the Wilde family.
