188 Mr. S. Kenny asked the Minister for Justice the action, if any, which can be taken by the Garda to deal with the problem of stray horses in the Darndale/Priorswood area in Dublin who frequently stray on to the Malahide road dual carriageway causing an obstruction and danger to motorists and to the animals themselves. I understand from the Garda authorities that every effort is made by the gardaí to respond to complaints regarding stray animals on public roads in the Darndale-Priorswood area.

The Deputy may wish to note that my colleague, the Minister for Agriculture, has undertaken to bring forward legislation to tackle the problem of wandering horses.
