Having studied the schedule assiduously I may wish to ask questions on another occasion. The answers will be revealing.

It is usual for Members to await the information contained in a schedule. We will facilitate questions at a later stage.

Deputy S. Brennan rose.

This question is essentially statistical and matters of policy ought not, therefore, arise.

Is the Taoiseach concerned about Civil Service numbers considering that 10,000 have left at a cost of £130 million?

I have already said that matters of policy do not arise now.

The numbers in the Civil Service are rising although 10,000 have left at a cost of £130 million.
